Domain name registration is the first step in establishing your web presence. Your domain name is your Worldwide Web (www) address, and is also known as the Uniform Resource Locator, or URL.

Every domain name is unique to a specific Website. For example, www.procreationsunlimited.com. Domain names must be registered through an approved registrar. ICANN (Internet Corp. for Assigned Names and Numbers) grants approved registrar status. One approved registrar is Network Solutions. Registration fees vary depending upon the registrar used, beginning at around $35.00 per year, depending upon the length of time you register the name for. Domain names must also be renewed prior to term expiration or they will revert to available status and can then be claimed by anyone in the public sector.
